hanging the loo roll

Just had the wierdest row with my sister in law.
The loo roll holder was out of paper and (even though I didn't use it) I hung another roll up.
She then asked me why I had put it up 'back to front'.
WTF?
It seems she hangs the paper so that it falls away from the wall and I'd hung it so it fell next to the wall. Never crossed my mind there was a right or wrong way to hang it. My brother just shrugged when I asked him about it and said just humour her
Anyone else with weoird ideas like this?

No, it should always hang against wall - do the opposite in my house and that is grounds for chucking you out!

Away from the wall, otherwise you have to reach underneath and pull from the bottom.

If I use the loo in somebody's house, and they've hung it against the wall, I have to change it for them.

I'm with your sis on this.

I always thought it was because the loo paper being next to the wall is less hygenic- if it touches the wall it is dirtier than if it was just hanging there?!

no - the paper has to hang down behind, ie next to the wall.. this is a must.. Like having all your money in you wallet organised in value with Queenie looking at you.. and having the fire hearth rug in the centre of the fireplace... oh I could go on, but then you'll think I'm odd!!!

OMG, I was just laughing at this, so my boyf asked me what was so funny, and he read thru this and the links too and now I fear our relationship maybe over, he says paper should hang against the wall, whereas I think it should be the other way!

Is there a future for us?! I never knew he felt like this!

I remember having this conversation with an on-line group of mates a few years ago... all hell was let loose between the *back* and the *fronts* (I'm fairly certain that some of them are still not talking to each other... how pathetic is that ?) .... I didn't actually think it really mattered... the most important bit was that there actually was some loo roll around to use......
