compost to rich?

why do my climbing plants not do any good next to compost bin.lots of worms, compost is good.?

Hi insurance, it could be that the ground is too dry or waterlogged. It may be that the plant is in the wrong postion, or the ground is too rich. I agree with Lindy Loo that the ground is probably too rich. Most vines don't like the soil too rich as it will cause them to put out lots of green leaf growth at the expense of flowers. Which vines are you talking about? Also, if you are talking about earth worms, they are good. Newt
