but I wish I was. New neighbours moved in about two months ago, and she is such a wind up merchant. She flicks ciggy butts over our back garden. She leaves her rubbish in a communal archway ( our house is attached to hers) and just the other night we overheard her doing a drug deal over the phone. We had our back door open and she had hers open and we heard her place an order for 300 worth of cocaine!!!!!! oh the joys of suburbia!!!

The best way to deal with difficult neighbours is to ignore them.

Legally, you can't even look at them as that is seen as confrontational and threatening.

Leave them to their own devices and they'll get bored or find someone else to wind-up.
Or you could contact your local housing dept (assuming she is a council tenant) and report your concerns, they may have their own anti social behaviour team who can investigate the matter. Nobody should have to put up with this type of behaviour. The estate manager should writer to the tenant warning them that their tenancy could be at risk if they are found to be breachng the rules of their tenancy (dealing / using drugs would be a breach!). You could also contact Environmental Health about the rubbish issue, it will encourage vermin and is generally filthy so they could also write to the tenant.

You can do all of this anonymously, but depending on what you report might make it obvious that it is you who is reporting.

Hope it gets sorted out.

Oh, and if you know she is dealing / taking drugs have you thought about reporting it to the police?
report it to everyone you can. Police, council / housing association

we had a similar neighbour, it took almost 2 year but shes now gone.

If she has children it might be worth a call to social services too, and if the kids are a bit unruly then the youth service aswell. Although, hopefully, if your local authority is on the ball, your housing office should arrange all of this upon receiving your complaint.

Failing all of that, you can contact your local MP, but probably in the first instance they will suggest you contact the police and the local authority.

She has bought the house and she has a little three year old girl. Her partner is one of the nicest blokes you could meet, but she is a nightmare. He is currently working away in Dubai. We've already contacted our housing manager and he basically says there's nothing we can do about it, without her realising it's us who have made the complaint. I have two very young children and the last thing I want to do is get into bother with someone who is a drug addict, God only knows what kind of scumbags she knows!!!!
She probably ISN'T a drug addict - but if she's dealing in cocaine, then you can bet that she knows some. Having said that, it's all too common for suburban housewives to take it with their friends for "recreational purposes". Call the police about that, and then let them deal with it. As for the cigarette butts and so on, try and have a quiet word with the woman about it. failing that, wait until her husband comes home, and tell him what's been going off.

cheers ice.maiden. thx for the advice :)
If her partner is as nice as you state he is have words with him when he returns. But first try to discuss it with her so that she can't say he never mentioned it to me. Just throw her fag ends back into her garden and any extra.
Will she tire first or you. Thats the challenge.
