Uuuurrrrggghhh! You're bringing back bad memories. It would depend on the machine - it's not an Aquarius is it? My bearings went (sounded like an aircraft carrier taking off when it spun) so I popped along to the local shop. The fella gave me a set of bearings which were the wrong type for the machine, so I ended up having to ring Hotpoint for advice. At the time they didn't sell the bearings separately and I ended up having to replace the whole drum, even though there was nothing wrong with the drum I had. I hope this doesn't happen to you cos the drums are about 100, and that's if you can fit it yourself (my husband is a mechanic so he had no bother, though it's a two man job to manhandle it into place). With a bit of luck the parts may now be available separately, in which case have a go yourself. Otherwise I'd be inclined to ring a qualified workman or even think of investing in a new, cheap machine.
