Hi, I normally plant Busy Lizzies in my borders. They are ideal for growing in shaded areas, e.g. along my drive near the fencing. They do not need dead-heading, do not grow too tall, and have pretty colours. I plant them around my lawn too. However, I feel like a change. Can you recommend any annuals that are similar in nature to the Busy Lizzie.
Begonias come in different colours and with different coloured leaves (some bronze leaves look good). There are different kinds too, semperflorens or tuberlous. They don't need dead heading (the tuberlous flowers drop themselves) the semperflorens just seem to stay like they are!!
You could try the bedding Begonias. These do not need dead-heading, they are happy in sun or shade, and will flower non-stop until burnt by frost. They are red, pink, or white, often with different-coloured foliage.
