I have to plant up a shrubbery in front of a 2 metre high, North facing wall. Any ideas please as to what shrubs would thrive in that location. Many thanks

An excellent climber for north facing aspect is AKEBIA quinata or SCHISANDRA chinensis.
Smaller shrubs....MAHONIA aquifolium, FUCHIA elegans, GOULTHERIA procumbens. They all tolerate any soil.
