Help..I have had a leak under my sink, behind the fitted units.I didn't know about it until there was a musty smell. I called a plumber, who found the leak.It may have been going on a long time, because my wooden floor is beginning to concertina. My probelem is that although the guy said it would dry out, it seems to be spreading. Under the wood is concrete, how long is this going to take, if at all.Should I call a builder, and would any work that mat have to be done be covered by Insurance ?

Check with your insurance company to see if you are covered. If not and you are able to, take up the damaged floor. Get a dehumidifier and dry it out. I believe an acceptable reading with a damp meter is about 125 or less, so I suppose you should aim for that. When it's dry you can see what remedials will be required.

Thanks nonomaybe...all sounds a bit daunting !!!!
Hi my company only deal with insurance claims, you most certainly can claim on your building insurance for your flooring, be sure to check units for any swelling, you can claim for a company to lift flooring disposin & and drying, this may only require a fan, be sure to use reptuble company with receipts. Better still ask your insurance company for one of their approved contractors.
Good luck
P.S you cannot claim for the repair of leak
