I had the this problem too with an England polo shirt. I bought a can of spray starch from the supermarket for about �1.50. Spray it on the collars and then iron it in, it worked a treat for me.

Mark the position of the collar when wearing, and put a tiny stitch in to hold it in place. If it's too big or too tight it's visible, and you look a t*** but otherwise it works.
