engine management
2 Answers
Hello All. I have a Proton Satria Hatchback 1.5. 53 reg. 19000 miles...A couple of months ago the engine management light came on even though the car appeared to be running well. I took it to a local garage and their diagnostic equipment detected a misfire in No 4 cylinder. I replaced the plug ( actually I replaced all four) and the problem seemed to be solved. However the light came on again yesterday so I took it back to the garage and the same problem was diagnosed "misfire in no 4cylinder". My mechanic suggested it could the plug lead breaking down. I will replace the lead and see what happens. Very recently I have been told by a very qualified auto electrician that these warning lights come on when there is no problem at all. Sorry for the long message. S.O.G.
