Bleeding radiators

I bled my spare room radiator three weeks ago when we switched on the central heating. Now it's stone cold, and I have to bleed it again.

How long should radiators last between being bled? Why is it the same one each time? How can I find out where the air is coming from?

You should bleed all the radiators in the house. Start with the one that gets the hot water first (the one nearest to the boiler) then go round and bleed them all in the order that the water gets to them. If you don't know what order they're in, have someone run around the house seeing when they got hot. If you only bleed one, air trapped in another radiator will still be in the system. This always works for me and I only bleed them once a year when the cold weather's approaching.

thanks Merlin. I will give that a go.

I hope you are remembering to turn the heating of before bleeding, otherwise it wont work anyway. However If  you have one cold radiator in the house even after doing this, try turning off the other rads in the house forcing the water to that rad only, the bleed it, removing a blockage in the pipe and air. Remembering to turn them off with the heating off...turn the heating back on again and see if it gets hot..it inevitably will..then turn the other rads on again..should be problem solved.
