Post-war Prefabs.

Are there any prefabs still surviving from the post-war boom of these dwellings? The last ones in my area were demolished about ten years ago.

There was a programme on tv not long ago
about pre fabs and there as a few left .
Think they might be in London.

There are some still near me. People still live in them too.

Some are listed in the Wake Green area of Birmingham, so they won't be demolished.

was some in glasgow a few years ago, will have to find out if they are still there or not

yep, still some in our area- whole council estate of them! used to be called tin-town because the houses were basically made from large bits of metal but they put fake bricks on them so now they don't look like tin anymore! also a couple of years ago we went to visit some friends in wales and they lived on an estate where the houses had exactly the same layout to all of the houses on this estate near us, was quite surprising!

the ones near us aren't like the ones in that article though so not sure if they 'count' as proper prefabs

There are still some in Preston, Lancashire, though they are two storey houses rather than one.
