Sorry you've been taken in by a common urban myth. Plastic milk bottle tops are worthless. They're not even worth recycling and they get in the way at recycling plants when they're left on the bottles. They join a long list of 'collect these and help send a child to Disneyland' articles such as crisp packets, bar codes, ring pulls ...

I live in Wisconsin, our school and some gas stations collect them to help the disabled. Each cap is worth 5 cents.
