I bought a cherry tree from Aldi a couple of months ago. The pear tree I bought at the same time is thriving. When I planted the cherry tree, it seemed quite happy and grew some little leaves. Altho I've watered it, the leaves haven't grown bigger and now they are dying. Is there anything I can or should do to revive it?

have you watered it enough? does the soil retain moisture or does it dry out? cherry trees tend to prefer moist soil so if it drains too much this could be your problem. the following link is a useful site for care of cherry trees. I hope that you can rescue it. good luck. Sam

thanks for the advice - I didn't know they were so thirsty! My soil is fairly sandy so I'll have to give it even more water. Will look up the ref you gave.
