This is the first year that my Victoria plum trees borne fruit of a decent size, and the plums taste fantastic. However, there was a heavy crop, but I've found some yellowish balls on some of them - which I presume are insect eggs of some sort? How do I get rid of these, or to prevent further infestations next year? If I spray - when do I do this - before the fruit arrives or when it's still unripe - and what's the best stuff to use? I want something as least harmful as possible. Thanks.
Hi there tamb. Thanks for the reply, but the little tree's laden. I want to save as much fruit as possible because some of it'll be sold - but we could do even better with it next year - providing I can stop whatever from laying eggs all over the fruit and spoiling it. x
