I have an 8 year old Victoria plum(self pollinating)that has plenty of blossom on in spring,but no fruits set on it,do they need anything in particular to help it along,it fruited when I first bought it as a 3 year old and had blossom on every year since,but no fruit

I have some Damsons in my garden and I noticed the other day that wood pigeons had been stripping the tiny, green, forming fruits.

I'm just wondering if this could also be the case with your plum ?
I agree with chipchopper as pigeons do eat new growth.
