tips to grow green pepper bush

i have rescued a sorry looking plant which I THINK is a green pepper plant (ie: there are two sorry looking fruit hanging that appear to be smallish green peppers). I want to keep it indoors as a houseplant but don't know where it oughta be, (light / temp etc) or how often to water it. Thanks as ALWAYS to anyone who responds
