does anyone know if you can still get the old pink windolene, the sort that dried to a cloudy finish, I am sick of the modern ones as I can never see where i've been and have to keep running in and out of the house to get the bits i've missed from the other side, I hate the job and the old cloudy stuff was a lot easier to see.
I was also sick of the modern ones until I read an article about window cleaners & the Asda own brand one came out miles above the rest. Its really brilliant & I use it on lots of surfaces including my ceramic hob & nothing ever used to make that look shiny. Its in a trigger bottle & is green in colour. Give it a try! (no, I don't work for Asda marketing!!!)
A bit late in answering cecil, but I only ever use the old fashioned pink Windolene. I've tried other brands & methods, but you can't beat it! I bought mine from Sainsbury's.
The only trouble I found when I bought the last bottle, was that it was in a much 'thinner' pink plastc bottle with less grip! Sooo - when I unscrewed the lid, it seemed to spurt out covering my hands & dripping over the window sill - so beware!
We usually do our shopping in Sainsbury's, but I don't think they had any in there the last - I think I ended up buying it in Asda, as this link shows:
I've found the best way to clean windows and mirrors is to fill a spray bottle with water and add a little washing up liquid, spray on the glass and wipe with kitchen roll. Buff up with fresh kitchen roll and they will sparkle!
