Am going to start potty training the piglet (I think). Anyone have any advice? She is 21 mths old at the moment and understands poo and pee so am thinking I will give it a go.
Many thanks
warpig
ps sorry if dont reply immediately but dont have much free time .
good luck hun!
We are trying to sit baby CRX on potty for an hour or so at a time.
She also understands poo and wee but only after the event so its not that easy. If shes awake when she wees she strips off. Ive lost count of the number of times ive checked on her as i go to bed and found her naked and her nappy slung off lol
21 months is still very young, though they say girls get it quicker than boys, so if it doesnt work then leave it a few mon ths and try again
x
Morning red my darling, how are you, long time no talk!
I know she is a little young but my mum has been busting my head saying that we/she should be trying so I thought I would give it a go. She will go a good few hours with a dry nappy so I am hopeful, that said not to worry if it doesnt work as she is still very young.
i have 3 different types of pottys and a childs toilet seat (a fixed one that confuses visitors) as it can be difficult to find a seat they are comfortable on
I would say 21 monthe is young too warpig, however, what we did, or at least my daughter did, bought one of those little tents that you can get for boys and girls, in our case it looked like a little castle with turrets and a little flag on top, it had a port-cullus door (velcro) we made a game of it, his potty was inside there and it was his special little toilet, he used to go in his "castle" and do the buisness, novelty! but it worked
Good Luck

lol Her Royal Highness, Queen Bobbisox of the North, I could do with one of those!!!! Will you tell my mum that 21 mths is too young as she is doing my head in. According to her we were all trained by a year and a half, methinks her memory is playing tricks with her.
haha warpig, yep my mum is the one wo told me to start with baby CRX lol
We are all well thanks, time is flying by.
I bet youre looking forward to xmas, have you braved a tree yet? Im dreading it with the little one as she is into everything.
just go with the flow on the potty training, they get it when ready but it wont hurt to try. x
Red, tree going up today and then trailed down again no doubt. Were has the time gone, she is standing chittering away to me and asking for a cup of tea (granny and granda's influence). You got to laugh!
How the heck did that happen, I never typed in HRH Queen Her Royal Highness, Queen Bobbisox of the North of the north, very curious or have I been away too long?
hi warpig. buy your daughter some "big girl's knickers" but be prepared for some accidents. keep the potty close to hand, remind her often, lots of praise if she hits the mark but no telling off if she doesn't.
if you have lots of puddles, I'd say it's a bit early for her. best of luck :o)
Hi Warpig, I don't really remember how old they were, The youngest is only 8 but it does seem a long time ago! I think they may have been a bit older than 21 months but not by much I wouldn't have thought. As others have said just go with the flow and be prepared for the odd mishap but obviously don't make a drama of it. I like the sound of the special castle and I'm quite tempted to get one for myself.
Good luck
G.
I think it is probably too young but you know your daughter best. Have a go and if it doesn't work try again another time. Some people think it is best to wait until the weather is good so the little ones can run around with fewer clothes on. My youngest children are 21 month old twins and my son is very aware of when his nappy needs changed but my daughter couldn't care less. For some bizarre reason they say not to start potty training twins until they are at least 2. We have two potties for them to get used to them and a 'family' toilet seat (a normal seat with a baby seat attached) and we have had since our oldest started potty training and they are brilliant (and only slightly more expensive than an ordinary tolilet seat). Good luck.
thank you all, still think she is too young, maybe leave it until after christmas, as dont think she is ready yet, show her the potty and she thinks it is a hat! Never a good opportunity!
