white marks on table

Hi I have a lacquered Veneered highly polish table the has had a hot plate put on it by accident that has left a white mark where the plate was does anyone have any ideas please thank you

Zac's solution usually works very nicely... however, if your table is old enough to have been finished in shellac rather than a varnish or Polyurethane, it won't work as well... Best of luck!
