Dead frogs

So far I have fished out the bodies of 4 frogs from the garden pond, we use the floating football trick to leave a couple of holes in the ice, the fish are all OK so why are my frogs dying? BTW I know that they can look dead when they aren't, but these were floating on the top and most definitely dead. Happened over the last 3-4 weeks, so I'm guessing it was the ice and they just can't survive?

Thanks for that snags-looks as if the ice was the culprit. Hope we've seen the last of the bad weather.
