My builder charges £100.00 per day.......trouble is being older I can't visualise your metric measurements.
2 days work by the sound of it and it will be one man and a labourer i would think, so you're looking at around £200 a day in labour. assuming the person laying the flags has his own grinder of course, if not you'll need to cover the hire of one.
It could take half a day to dig it out actually and then if there's any drainage to be worked round it can put a job back. Do you need to hire a cement mixer too?
I've used a metric convertor and that is some patio............have you got planning permission?
I've got a big patio.. should I have had planning permission?
Sorry just checked the planning permission refers to front gardens only.
phew!
It's a huge patio, the manual shifting of that many 3x2 flags is going to be a job and a half,
It depends, sara...........

There may be an issue with the Planners as now 'concreting' over your garden can require permission. There is an issue about ground-water drainage, etc and how this is affected by concreting it over.

hofficoffi's patio is about 18 x 18 feet.
mine's about 25 x 35ish!
That's what I made it jack, that;'s not a patio that's a car park.
oi!

Thanks all for the info :-)

The area given IS our back garden! It's basically soil/hardcore at the moment and has been for a couple of years! We're finally getting around to doing something with it! We were thinking patio would look nice and would be low maintenence! My husband fancies slate patio slabs. (Expensive taste!) and we've seen some with nustone.co.uk for approx £21 per m2 including vat and delivery. Anyone know of anything cheaper? We're open to suggestions re. alternative for garden surface. We have a 19 month old daughter so it needs to be child friendly if possible. Had thought of decking but heard it can get slippery and harder to maintain? Have also thought about a lawn (if that's possible? we're basically looking for a solution for the whole of our back garden which measures 6m x 6m. Any thoughts?
Thanks
We've got a mixture of slabs and gravel, hoffi, which gives a bit of variety but also means there is adequate drainage. We are higher than our next door neighbours and I would worry with all slabs that all the rainwater would just drain off under the fence. You need to leave drainage - plus also you will want some sort of drain yourselves so when you clean off the slabs (which will need doing from time to time) it goes somewhere, not sits around. We've planted some low-growing shrubs and bulbs in the gravel so there is some softening, and we have loads of stuff in pots. Easy maintenance!
