Bathroom Floor

I am renovating bathroom and so far is going well. Need to do the floor however - any ideas? I was thinking cheapo laminate but cutting around loo and basin maybe tricky? Any experience? The floor is wooden floorboards - would I have to lay an underlay of I did vinyl?

On the cheapo laminate point, sorry if I�m pointing out the obvious but make sure you use laminate that is suitable for use in wet rooms. This�ll no doubt be more expensive. I once laminated my bathroom on the cheap but it warped within a couple of months from the humidity.

Sealant is very important due to humidity and splashing. All laminate should be underlaid with the proper stuff. Also, if you intend to remove and replace any skirting, use caulk along top of repositioned skirting to minimise potential of water seeping through to floor below. Agree with Miss Zippy....you get what you pay for with cheapo laminate. Paying a little bit more will be worth it in the long run.

if you did Vinyl it would be good to put a hardboard covering over the floorboards (assuming there are gaps etc) to level everything off.

yes if you vinyl it would be a good idea to put down subfloor because the wooden floorboards lines will show thru vinyl........best work for a professional.
