Any carpet fitters based in Wiltshire? I have been let down again. I need 2 laying.

This is a long shot moonraker, but you could try www.ratedpeople.com. It is mainly for finding someone like an electrician or plumber but you could select "specialist tradesman". Basically once registered, which takes just a few mins, you tell ratedpeople what job you want doing, and how much you want to pay (optional question). RP then pass this to suitable tradesman on their books. I found a plumber very quickly doing this. The only problem for you is that there might not be any carpet fitters registered. Not sure where you have bought the carpet from, but as soon as the shops open, you could try contacting local carpet shops and asking who fit their carpets. They might tell you, but on the other hand, they might just think tough, should habe got your carpet from us. A better bet might be to go in to the shops and explain the situation. Face to face you might find a sympathetic assistant who will give you phone numbers of the fitter/s they use. Carpet fitters are usually self employed and thus not tied to specific shops. I work in a department store in the midlands (Co-op) which sells carpets. The carpet trade is not that bouyant right now, so most fitters would be glad of the work. If you have a Carpetright store nearby, try them. Hope this helps.

Many thanks for that .I think I will end up eating humble pie and go back to carpetright to see if they will help, but after declining their delivery service of £35 and opting to pick it up ourselves we could be on a loser there, but if you dont ask.......
