depends on the variety and how it was propogated - seeds, cuttings or layering. those grown from seed can take 10-15 years, cuttings 4-5 years and layering 2 years. mine took a good 4 years to even start producing, another couple before it really took off. be patient :)
We plant wisteria for the delight of the next generation, most of the really beautiful ones you will see are more than 20 years old,,,be patient...and a high potash feed in spring might encourage flower formation but possibly not til the following year
Mine took 8 years before their first proper flowering. Then I moved house a year later, and I was appalled to see that the people who moved in chopped it down!!!!! I almost knocked on their door to give them an earblasting., Honestly...... :-(
Wisterias baffle most gardeners when it comes to pruning them. If it's a mature plant then it needs pruning twice each year. The first during August when lateral growths, not the main stem or branches off this but the smaller, thinner ones off those, are cut back to 4 - 6 leaves. Then, in December/January, prune these again back to 2 - 3 plump flower buds, easily recognisable during the winter months. Wisteria can grow 10 - 12 feet in one season, so make sure there's plenty of room for it.
