Landlord Unreliable?
3 Answers
I reported to my landlord last Tuesday that the curtain pole brackets had fallen down due to the holes being an inch deep. Also, that the toilet is leaking and that it dripping on tiles below which is causing slight damage.
He said via a phone call from me, TUesday morning that he would ring me Friday night to confirm what time he was coming on Saturday to fix the problems. No phone call Friday night.
I waited until 11am that morning and left a message on his mobile. He rang me back saying he'd come along at 3pm. I waited and at 3:20pm he rang and said he was running late so won't be here until 4:30pm. When he came at 4:30pm, he said '"i'll take a quick look", and left a few minutes earlier saying he'd come on Monday night. I did say that the curtain pole issue was a priority as I am unable to use that bedroom to sleep in. He then said "I'll probabley be here Monday, but if not another day during the week".
Now that I am thinking about it, I am disappointed that he didn't fix, (at least) the curtain pole brackets when he came yesterday. It was a totally waste of my time and his time.
Now, I don't think he's going to come on MOnday night as he seemed very hesitant.
Does anyone think that this is unreasonable?

You are currently paying rent for a room you can't sleep in.
