does anyone know how long the parts warranty is on an indesit washing machine is? after a year and a half my machine broke down, surely parts should have a minimum guarantee of more than a year

generally manufacturers guarentees are for 1 year. The shop usually tries to sell you an exetended warranty which I advise against but in this case it seems that it would have been useful. All you can do is appeal to the manufacturer saying that you accept it has exceeded it's guarentee period but that you expect that it should last longer than 18months and that you therefore suspect that your machine was not up to standard.
