Where is a Good UK Venue for Hosting a Corpoarate Event / Conference - for 20 guests?

I have to organise a corporate event for 20 people who have having several start of year meetings / conferences, to be held Weds / Thurs 19th and 20th January.

I am looking for a nice hotel anywhere in the UK, but it must have good air links as at least half of the guests are from Spain, Italy, Poland etc. I want somewhere which is nice and comfortable but looks a bit special. We will need meeting rooms for at least 1 and a half days.

I do want there to be some focal point for one evening, so suggestions such a a hotel in London and go on the London Eye; or a country hotel with a spa and golf course is roughly what I am looking for. A historic type place or atraction would be good - particular for my foreign colleagues.

Any expereince with these things or any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

(I have seen hotels at (£150+) per night and these are too expensive, so anything less than this would be a winner.)

I've just got back from a weekend at Celtic Manor and it was A M A Z I N G - totally second that recommendation :)

There are some excellent hotels very close to Gatwick airport - our regional office is in Horley and they often hold central meetings there. Most have shuttle buses from the airport building, direct to the hotels, which saves on taxis.

There's a spa here at the Sofitel which is on the North Terminal http://www.sofitel.co.../special-offers.shtml

We stayed there a few months back when we were flying out, it was good.

Id agree with SJJ's suggestion of the Beaumont at windsor. Theres also the Windsor eye, which is a lot small, but cheaper than the London Eye.

Hotel was lovely when we stayed in August.

www.royalscotsclub.com is very unique conference venue in Edinburgh, easy access (International airport) and in the centre of Edinburgh, historical building, great atmosphere
