sore throat
7 Answers
every morning i wake up with a sore throat. last friday i was spitting up green stuff and could hardly speak. i went to the doctors and she gave me some antibiotics but said my chest was clear so i should hold fire with taking the medication due to the bodies immune system. i ignored this and didnt want to wait around to get a chest infection which i thought was crazy as there was green stuff already. ive now finished the course of antibiotics and i would say i am only 10% better. i am still spitting up green stuff and every morning i have a sore throat though it doesnt last throughout the day. where do i go from here? i doubt the doc will give me more biotics now as i 'disobeyed' her!

If you haven´t got a temperature and you feel moderately well and have taken the antibiotics.......what more do you want. The green phlegm doesnt necessarily suggest an infection out of control.
Last Friday...you went to the doctors or do you mean a week last Friday?
Do nothing.....monitor the situation.

it was a week last friday, sorry to be unclear, how time flies by. i dont think i sleep with my mouth open, hubby would be telling me especially if i were to snore! bedroom does go cool at night though as have heating on low. cant sleep with heating on high. i posted abt 2 weeks ago re sniffles and did wonder if it was down to a scented candle but ive removed that now. dont you think the doctor's advice was a bit slack though, saying i should wait for it to go to my chest before taking antibiotics? i will monitor the situation but dont want to be stuck without antibiotics over xmas if it gets worse again.
