Dependant on how many kilo watt rating your appliances are will decide if it's 10mm or 6mm twin and earth cable. From your isolation switch you wire into a cooker connection unit.from this point the cable to each appliance must be the same size as your mains cable to your isolation switch. To lower the size of cable you must fuse it down via a fused spur plate.
The cable should be thick enough to accomodate any standard hob/oven, since when it is wired it is a permanent fixture and anyone coming along after you may wish to change it. You should wire one circuit for the hob, and another for the oven using 4mm squared twin and earth for each circuit, fused at 20 amps. Wire to  two 30 amp double pole switches and then to the oven directly, or via cooker connection units (best). If you had a cooker previously, and don't want the disruption of wiring an extra circuit (you can use the  existing cooker circuit for one of the appliances), you can use a junction box to feed each appliance seperately, though this may not comply with IEE 16th edition.
Ah tweed so explain what size cable do you use if the oven is 8 kw and the hob is 4 kw rating. As you will be supplying with a radial to a single installation there is no allowance. There's not that many people who would be happy with 2 cooker switchs.
This is covered by legislation "p" as such you need a certified trades person to install, to coply with the law !!!
You need to know how many amps the appliances take.
To calculate the amps, divide the watts by 240.
Then, for the safety of you and your family, phone a qualified electrician and get him to do the job.
