Bought a new ring last November for my birthday however a stone came out of it and the guy said I could get it replaced or a new ring. Since I had started to dislike the ring I went for a 3 solitaire type of ring - it was £2,000. Anyway the wee young girl sized the second/new ring 2 sizes down from the first ring and last night my hand swelled up a bit with the heat and I found I had to take the ring off.
Now my question if the ring is to be made bigger do I lose gold or is more gold put in. Will they charge me for it. My friend says it is very easy to get the ring made bigger but I am not sure it is straightforward. I should not have allowed this wee girl to downsize the ring 2 sizes - I am livid with myself. First ring size was fine as I have been wearing it from November. And I believe you are better with a bigger than a smaller - help!!!!

The insurance will be for loss or theft or accidental damage - not for it just being made up the wrong size. If you agreed to the smaller sizing at the time, I don't think there is anything you can do, except make your case to the jewellers.
