what do you think about this? yesterday i went to by car to then get a train to go shopping. i knew if i parked before 9.30 that parking was 3 pounds all day. the carpark was just behind the station, ncp, open with 2 parking machines, no barriers, just an entrance and exit literally next to each other, ie same road in and out. i noticed that traffic wardens were just looking at the cars on the road nearby. anyway i realised that i had left a bag at home with something in that i needed to return before the date was up ie today. so, i thought, once i had paid, was i entitled to come and go from the car park as i had paid for all day? are you allowed to leave and come back. no one seemed to be checking the cars. as it was i came home for the bag and went back and reparked. i wondered if someone was coming round taking reg plate numbers and did think maybe i would be clamped or something, on my return, nothing detrimental had happened. so, just how does it work?

you pay for so many hours, your ticket will have an expiry time on it. so long as it's still valid, you can do what you like!

If however you are required to insert your ticket when exiting the carpark and leave without doing so you are breaking the law, no matter how long you have left on your ticket. When re-entering you would then be required to pay again.

you just drive out, no machine to insert ticket on leaving, you just pay and display in effect.
