It needs to be jpeg doesn't it? Try rescanning the image and setting to the highest resolution (I just had the same problem and it took blooming ages to get it sorted). If it doesn't have to be jpeg then save it as a tif file or something instead - they are much bigger
you may be able to do it; but if the picture as it is doesn't have enough detail, then blowing it up will just make it fuzzier. A3 is quite big and 500MB is quite small, to be honest.
sorry - 500KB
It should be possible jno - the picture I had done was 712kb and was blown up to 20"x30". A3 is less than 12"x16". The picture looked great and the quality was in no way reduced.
Do you have access to photoshop or something similar. Most packages can enlarge images.
could be, karenmac; I've just tried fiddling with one of my photos and it looks a little bit fuzzy at that resolution, but I would have thought it should print out okay. I don't know if there are special requirements for canvas printing, though.

thanks for your answers, I'll try and find the image again and re-scan it, I tried asking the place is they'd do a smaller canvas [I've been given vouchers for 2x A3 canavas'] but they didn't get back to me.
What company is it Graffia?
Yes, do rescan it again at a higher resolution. As jno said, there is no point in blowing up a smaller picture as you'll just increase the fuzzyness, not the detail.
sorry, I didn't realise your picture wasn't digital already. Follow Chuck and Karen's advice.

The company is 'fast canvas prints'
I do already have the pictures digitally, but they are still too small for the requirements of the site.
My hubby got me the vouchers so we can have 2 pictures from our wedding day
Knowing the size of the original. the target size and the resolution of their printer, the ideal scan resolution can be calculated. You should ask them to recommend the scan resolution.

When you rescan it is best not to save as a JPG.

Ideally use a TIFF. This is much bigger data-wise but entirely lossless and will give the best quality. If you do use a jpg then keep the quality setting up very high (like 90 percent)
You could experiment using a high resolution digital camera to take a close up of the photograph. You can crop the bits off you don't want afterwards using photo editing software.
