Epson Perfection Scanner V500Photo
5 Answers
In the move to my new house my scanner fell off a bed on to a carpeted floor, a distance of about 3'. It slid off backwards and landed on it's "plugging" end.
I can't get it to work. Does anyone know if it could be damaged beyond repair? Thanks

I strongly suspect that your scanner is deader than a dead dodo dawdling in doo doo. However it might help to know in what respect it doesn't work? Does your computer think that it's attached? (Try opening an image-editing program, such as Irfanview, Photoshop, or similar, an using the 'Import' option to see how far you get). Do you get grinding sounds when you try to do a scan, or is everything completely 'dead'?

If the scanner isn't listed it might be that the driver is no longer recognised by the computer (which would be unrelated to any possible physical damage). Reinstall it from the disk which came with the scanner. (If you can't find the disk, download the file - and then run it - from here: http://www.epson.co.u...DRV_CATEGORY_CODE=DRV ).
