what happens?
i know they will charge the person to recieve it, but what is the extra cost?
i remember it was a pound on top of the normal costs about 6 years ago..
any thing else?

The person receiving the item will receive a "fee to pay" card in the post notifying them that an item is being held for them which requires a fee to be paid . The fee can be paid in a number of ways , including on line . The item will them be sent out for delivery when the fee i paid .

.. but of course it means that the person receiving it has to cough up, not the sender - and there have been times when I have been so cheesed off with repeated unstamped or understamped letters from the same source, that I have refused to pay the extra, in which case they get sent back to the sender.

why would i be trying to get at someone?
its urgent stuff for a shoot, but the cost of posting the parcel, then posting them a receipt for the cost of postage, then waiting weeks for them to sort it out then them having to send me a cheque reimbursement, outweighs the pound and saves me time too, which i dont have to spare...so its easier...
