So you want to know how to connect an unspecified device to an unspecified TV?

Mentioning things like what laptop and what TV helps here!

If it's a flat screen TV then a standard VGA cable would do the video, and a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack, or a 3.5mm jack to 2XRCA cable will do the audio.

If the laptop has HDMI, then you can use that for both video and audio.
