is this the catch me if you can man?
if so, i havent read the book but have seen the film
he relied on confidence trickery, and i think people are still as suseptible today
I think as far as he wished, he must have been a very resourceful and clever man to have evaded the authorities for so long. He would i am sure be up to speed with the latest technologies if this were now, and he was still playing the bad guy.

thing is though, his scams relied on promoting his authority in order to make the teller trust him...even going so far as to fool a load of young girls into dressing as stewardesses to make him more believable..

most of his actual documents were actually pretty shoddy when placed next to the original, and he just made them up by cutting an pasting and photocopying...usually from once glance memory...
i mean his pan am id card had a sticker from a model airplane kit as the logo - and nobody ever noticed!

he also relied upon the fact that everything was done by hand...and it was down to teller to spot the fake...not machines.

if he tried what he did then now hed be spotted in an instant.

but as you say with all updated knowledge...could it be done?
i believe it could.
Well for a start he would have access to a computer and printer, so his fakes would be much more convincing. There's still plenty of fraud going on in the world, so I'm sure he would still be scamming in this day and age.
