Hi does anyone know the following:-

I only have an I pad 2 and an I pod nano ( both Christmas presents ) I understand that the I Pad is essentially a large pod in as much as it will play the music I have stored on I tunes but I am a jogger and can't jog around the park with an I pad strapped to my arm so how do I get my music from my pad to my pod?? Ps it is a nano with no internet service - it's just a music device
Thank you

You'll need a computer with iTunes installed on it. Your music files on that computer can then be synced/shared/copied to both the ipad and ipod.

There is no way to directly get the music files from your ipad on to your ipod nano.

Following on from this I would like to load all my cd's on to my I pad - if they are all in I tunes how do I select what to sync to my I pod - or if the list is too big - as I suspect it will be is it better to create a file of music on to the "pc " part of my tablet and select from that - if I do this how do I stop the tablet automatically loading them to I tunes?? ( I have put on one disc and this is what happened )
If you put music onto your ipad via itunes, wirelessly I'm presuming, they will appear in your itunes account on your computer, you can them just transfer them across to your nano. If they don't appear in itunes then hook the ipad up to it and save the stuff from your ipad. If it's on one device it will be available on all of them via itunes.
When the ipad, ipod is connected to itunes, click on it and go to music, you can then select what you want on it. You can have as much or as little as you wan on them and they don't have to have the same stuff. I hope that makes sense as I typing from memory as I don't go on itunes too often.

Thanks for the answer but no that's not my problem - I only have I tunes on my I pad ( I Cloud ) - I can't download to the nano from I cloud because the nano does not work on line - so I have to either plug it in to the I pad ???? (How) or hopefully discover there is an app that will sent the music to the Nano from the Pad ?? - does this make sense?? there's no physical way of putting the tunes into the Nano from the Pad - so what do I need to connect the two?? I suppose what I am saying is that the two don't talk to each other ?? Please help
Then the answer is no, you can't move from ipad to nano, if it was an itouch you could as it has wifi capability. Do you have a home computer/laptop? as far as I know the only way to get music onto a nano, is through itunes on a computer, someone may very well correct me but I can't see how.
This would also apply to your ipad as well with regards to putting your CD's on there, you need to get them onto itunes on a pc first.
surely you would need to use itunes for your nano? why not just add it to your existing account?
