I have a fireplace which has had a kind of wood burner inserted into it. It's not a wood burner on legs just a big cube. What are these called in English? I've googled about and can only come up with fireplace insert which I've never heard of but literally translates the french 'insert de cheminée'. Hope someone can help.
Coccinelle
They seem to be called 'insert stoves' - as you can see from the descriptions on this website. But not every manufacturer seems to be consistent in their naming approach.

buildersmate; that's not exactly what I'm looking for as mine is just a closed in fire, it doesn't produce hot water or heat radiators. Also mine is to be fit into an existing fireplace. But that link has made me think of maybe changing my system and getting more from my fire as it's on nearly every day in winter.
