I'm reading Jeremy Clarkson "Dont stop me now" and in one part is talking about the great western railway to link London with Bristol, which he says " inital estimates would cost £2.8 million but this would have only got it as far as Slough, the actual cost was an astronomical cost of £6.5 million, so my question is how much is 6.5 million in 1835 worth now.

and the HS2 will cost £32 Billion - 100 times as much

I guess labour was cheaper but that's still a big difference
Jake the peg £321,685,002.68 is a billion figure -which would mean same as todays HS2 BUT -the BOI calcluator gives it double that @ 67 billion
