Ebay - missing delivery
What do I do if I have paid for an item, and the seller is convinced he/she sent it ages ago to your address? What right does the buyer and seller have here?

Your only hope is to ask the seller to seek compensation from the carrier. Royal mail will refund lost items, no questions asked, up to (I think) 25.00. Other carriers, eg. DHL, have their own compensation rules but more often than not the shipper has to take out insurance. Again you'll have to get your seller to investigate.
For the future, always get your seller to obtain proof of postage (If by Royal mail) if by another carrier then the carrier signs for it when collected but the shipper still needs to specify insurance value.
Good luck
Check back on the sale on ebay and see if she said she would use recorded delivery or similar in her description. A good ebayer would never send anything without proof of posting or recording the posting.
Check out her comments and see if anyone else as complained in the past and contact them and see if it was ever resolved.
