Another 'Closing Ceremony' thread.

While there are a few individual posts on the subject, I can't see a thread suggesting names which were missing from the line-up last night.
Here's a few that I think should have been considered:
Rolling Stones
Tom Jones
Jamie Cullum
Bellowhead
June Tabor & Oyster Band
Agreement? Disagreement? Further suggestions, anyone?

I have to admit that, until I just googled them, I didn't realise that the Hollies were still performing (or even alive!). A good suggestion though.
237SJ:
From Wikipedia -
"Roxy Music performed seven dates around the UK in January and February 2011, in a tour billed 'For Your Pleasure', to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary. The band then toured through Australia and New Zealand between February and March for a further eight shows".
So it seems that they're still around as well. (I liked their music back in the 70s but I wouldn't necessarily have considered them for the Closing Ceremony).

Agree with Rolling Stones, Tom Jones and Bellowhead.
Even Russell Brand sung better than Macca!! He spoilt the opening ceremony for me!! Embarrassment.
I am still wondering why Jessie Jay seems to be seen as up there with the greats??
Perhaps a filmed compilation of Hollies, Fortunes, etc. of that era.

MM:
Russell Watson's a great suggestion. I'd also go along with Elton John as long as his voice is still up to it. (I've seen it suggested that his voice is going the same way as Macca's).
LL:
It's good to see some support for Bellowhead!
Chuck:
I'll leave you and LL to argue about Jamie Cullum. (I like a lot of his music but I do find some of his stuff a little discordant to my ears).
Good evening, Jeza & Craft.
