Cuckoo clock not cuckooing properly
10 Answers
I've got a battery operated cuckoo clock and I've done something wrong when changing the time back today. The clock now cuckoos at the wrong time and I cannot find the instructions.
Anybody out there that can help?
Many thanks

It can be really awkward to get them back to normal without the instructions.
You could try moving the hands clockwise, one hour at a time, and see if you can get the time and chime back into sync. But only go clockwise!
Worst case: take battery out and wait six months!

Listen to what it cuckoos on the hour let's say 6 for example. Let it cuckoo 6 times. The stop the clock. Then move the hands clockwise slowly until you reach 1 minute to seven. Restart the clock and it should cuckoo 7 times.
This is an example it can be applied to whatever time your is cuckooing to:)

Have you tried taking the batteries out...... and putting them back in, then adjust the time?
You can carefully lift the hour hand slightly so it is lose and turn it to match the amount chimes and then push it back on. Then adjust forwards waiting for each hour chime to finish before going to the next hour.
Let this be a lesson to you to always feed your cuckoo before you play with it or it will always throw a hissy-fit.

As someone else already said, never turn the hands back on a clock that sounds on the hour. Try this: let's say that you turned the clock back from 11am to 10 am, stop the clock, and the next time it approaches 11am start the clock at around quarter to eleven..NOT 11. Most striking clocks have a mechanism that primes them before they strike.
