Rented Accomadation

me and my boyf have decided on a house we want to rent ( if any of you saw mt previous post about his mother moving in with us...well now we are moving out) any way on sat we took in our admin fees and a holding deposit to stop other people being able to view the house while our references go through, what i want to know is how long would this usually take? Also my dad is standing guarantor for us because i have recently changed jobs, if mine or my partners references didnt get the highest marks would the fact that my dad is being guarantor allow us to be accepted any way?

A couple of days normally, it's not a long process. It's literally a case of the agents ringing up or writing to your references.

To be honest with renting it's nowhere near as strict as getting a mortgage, the checks are really a back up to make sure your not an axe murderer.

If you want to speed things up give the agent a ring and badger them.

when i didnt want to give work references my parents went guarentor on our rent and they accepted happily on that!

Mystress- thank you. It was the only option left open to us, since my last post there have been constant arguements over money and even grocery shopping. And on friday the straw that broke the camels back was me and my boyfriend coming home ( after i had been at work all day ) to find that all our belongings that were in and around the house (photgraphs ornaments etc etc) had been dumped in our bedroom like they didnt belong and left there for us to tidy up.

Also his mother swans in and out at all hours of the night and early morning making as much noise as she possibly can knowing that im a light sleeper and that she will wake me up even though i have work in the mornings.

I feel like an imposter in that house now and cant wait to get out its really getting me down
