Some broight spark came up with the idea of an eternity ring that would use these and could be sold to people to celebrate an engagement or something like that.
There's no real tradition of when and how because they're an artificial custom, so I guess whenever feels appropriate to you.
Personally I dislike de Beers with an absolute passion and I'd sooner spend money on a much more original piece, you'd get better value for money. But for some people it just *has* to be diamonds.
