I want to buy a small flat screen television for the childrens bedroom, with a freeview kind of box. This is so they have their own space and can watch cartoons.

I have a very small budget, to include, tv, box, and bracket for wall. What would you recommend, and how do these boxes work, or am I better going with sky multiroom? thanks. x

"freeview kind of box"....most TVs will have Freeview built-in, no box required.

Oh really, so is it just plug and view?
Yes, but you will need signal from an aerial....either outside or indoor (if signal strength is good)
Try Richer Sounds. I think all TV's now come with Freeview.

I have an ariel on the roof? do I have to plug it in anywhere, this ariel
...into the back of the TV, where else???
phleb, you could buy a set top Ariel for around a tenner, doesn't have to go on top of the TV by the way.
you can get small freeview tvs with built in dvd players from Tesco.... around £120. My daughter has had one in her room about 4 years now...
Most of the big supermarkets can sell you a perfectly good TV set for around £100. e.g. http://direct.asda.com/LG-22MN43D---LED-monitor---21.5%22-with-TV-tuner/000513872,default,pd.html
(As has been indicated above, all TV sets now have Freeview tuners built in as standard).
Just had a quick look on Argos - 19" Alba with built in DVD £99.99
