If I drill a tiny hole in the corner of a credit or debit card...the bit that doesn't go right into the machine would it cause any problem that you can think of?...

I'd like to chain them to my purse which is chained to my bag to save repeat journeys to shops where I've left them.

And yes I could become more aware and careful I know, but I doubt that is going to happen....☺

No No Tony a red hot pin and Gness, disaster!
You could try the method we use gness. At the supermarket we frequent we always go to the same checkout lady who is well aware of our shortcomings. Only last Saturday she reminded me to put the credit card back in the wallet and the wallet into the zip pocket it lives in. Madam SD is as daft as I am and also qualifies when she pays.
Ah, yes Psybbo, I should have given that more thought.

Make sure the hole is the right size for the chain, gness. (How complicated is this????????)
Yeah, what type of chain is it, gness ?.
Question Author
Not too complicated, Tilly...if it doesn't mess up the cards......The purse chain is strong stuff from B&Q....the card chain is like sink plug chain....The snow chains from the car were a bit too heavy ........x
Now where did I leave that purse, you know the one with a chain?
The Saga of the Credit Card Part 2

The dog and I went shopping
I needed money first
The card went in the ATM
And then the bubble burst

A car revved up it's engine
The dog of course took fright
He took off like a Dingbat
'Twas a splended sight

The ATM was still attached
The card of course was stuck
A Constable who had appeared
Quickly had to duck

The moral of this story is
And I always will maintain
If you've got to keep your card attached
Only use a very small chain.
