Full Face Snorkel Masks

I realise I won't be getting many answers but some of you must like snorkelling like me. Has anybody got one of these full face Tribord masks. I saw people using then on holiday and they looked impressive but don't know if they're any good?

Unless someone tells me they're carp I think I'm going to get one Zacs, at the moment I just can't use a mouthpiece so just hold my breath.

I do quite a bit of snorkelling and scuba diving and they look very interesting. Not sure about the length of the tube until I see one in real life, but it all looks good.
I shall have to see my PADI friends and see what they think.

I would use one of those. Reading the spiel sounds good. I don't go snorkelling that often but always enjoy when I do. I always hate it when my mask steams up & I don't like having lots of water in the mask to keep it clear.

If you don't want the mask to steam up wash it in seawater and then spit into it.

Spit helps a bit but it doesn't stop steaming up completely. They're about 30 something quid.

To me, snorkeling means spending time beneath the surface as well as just floating around on the surface, so I don't really see any great advantage in this product.

" I don't like having lots of water in the mask..." It helps if, prior to putting the mask on, you completely soak your hair and sweep it away from your face. Water will find it's way into the mask, especially if you snorkel beneath the surface, where any stray strands of hair are tapped in the mask.

They look pretty good and I wouldn't mind trying one.
My only concern would be purging the snorkel when surfacing after a quick trip to the sea bed. It's easy with a small mouthpiece, I would imagine it would be difficult with a full face mask.

Any idea of cost Prudie?

It looks interesting. Only thing is, it`s hard enough to get a really good seal sometimes with a normal mask but on these there is a lot more area that has to be completely watertight around the face and it might be hard to fill all the gaps so to speak. You could try phoning a local stockist and see if they what kind of feedback they have had.

A thin coating of Vaseline around the edges of an ordinary mask will help to ensure a good seal; however, as I said above, get rid of those stray hairs being trapped.

Chill I did mention, they cost between £30 and £40. I did wonder how they make a tight seal 237, going below the surface doesn't appeal to me anyway, I think these are designed more for the holiday casual user.

Prudie, if you intend to stay on the surface then they might be OK; however, keep in that the larger the mask is, the more chances of a leak. I think that a really good scuba mask, perhaps with "side windows", is what you should spend your money on...Happy snorkeling.
