How do I snip off the end of a stanley Knife? I think that is what it is called anyway.
I know that it should be easy and simple - but it isn't.

jno - it is the segmented blade ones. I tried it the other day and only one little bit came off.
I will hunt for my pliers and do it in the morning. I need to find the wire for my electric/battery screwdriver to try and fix my bed.
I have inherited my father's talents at DIY ~ he was useless too. My brother is totally the opposite.
Night all ~ my moggies are staring at me so it must be bedtime. It is not worth me refusing to obey orders.

Thank you everyone ~ I found a pair of pliers and successfully snipped off the end bit.
My next task is to work out why my bed is sloping. From the headboard it slopes downwards and from the edge of the bed it sloped up towards the wall.
I have three options:
(1) Buy a new bed
(2) Work out why this is happening (not new but just becoming annoying)
(3) Get rid of the bed and sleep on the floor on my new mattress and the previous two mattresses that my cats are using as a climbing wall.
option three would mean that Frankie and Princess Merlin would be unable to hide under the bed when vet time comes.

stuey - I live in a flat on the top two floors (2nd and 3rd floor) so that is, theoretically, a possible solution.
Alas Frankie is a climber and has killed two clothes horses in the last few years - not too sure if he could resist the scissor thingy. He and his sister are now nine but they can still act like kittens when they need to.
I wish my brother hadn't moved abroad (Engerlund) coz he is good at this type of thing.
My impending repairs to my roof are going to cost me thousands of pounds. That is if we still have the pound up her in Scotland when the bill comes in.
