I have a dishwasher bought from IKEA. It has just developed a problem. When it is plugged in but not switched on at the door switch, the pump activates to pump out water even tho it is empty. When I put it on a wash cycle, it takes water but the pump gets rid of it at the same time. Any ideas which component is faulty? Thanks

The pump is probably controlled by a triac that might have short-circuited, but it is probably located on the control board.
Going to require a technician to faultfind it, I fear.
It could well have a leak underneath.A lot of dishwashers have a float switch to prevent flooding and so makes the drain pump run.Best way to check is tlit the machine and see if water runs out from the base
