Hello all,

Apologies in advance for the silly question!

What is 0.018 in monetary terms? For example, 0.18 is 18p, but what is 0.018?

Thanks in advance,
OBL.

1.8 pence. Just under 2p
No it's not - it's 18 hundredths of a penny.
Yes, it is... 1.8p
It depends...on whether 0.018 is £0.018 or 0.018p And since the OP has said "0.18 is 18p" then 0.018 is, by extension 1.8p.
Just testing Jack - of course, you're right.
LoL.... :o)

But I agree with gingejbee's analysis...
if it's 0.018 of a pound, then as rockyracoon says.
Just to expand on the above...0.018 doesn't have any monetary meaning without the £ or p being shown.....which the OP didn't do.
The op didn't show there was a £ sign in front of the 0.018
Therefore it would be assumed the query related to a penny.
Bhg was right as in .. 18 hundredths of a penny.
I'm afraid it has a perfectly normal monetary meaning and is used all day long on the Alternative Investment Market.
If you are unaware of the AIM, it's a way to make or lose lots of money very quickly, often within seconds. As a regular investor I often buy or sell shares and the trading platform providers offer prices to buy and sell .. to the nearest 100th of a penny... so yes 0.018 does have a monetary value and is in everyday use.
1.8 pence
" 1.8p" ... and no explanation.

If I were to see 0.018 used in monetary terms, I would immediately think of those figures as describing a fraction of a penny and as previously stated.
Have a look at a screen print taken a few minutes ago and it is plain to see.
Look at .."yesterdays close" .. I can assure you that prices are quoted to buy and sell in 10ths and 100ths of a penny.

Another link to the same share to show it's real ... but I'm afraid the price has shot up by more that 25% in the last hour ! ... https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=lse+tern
